When I was an M.Sc. physics Student at Dibrugarh University in Assam, India, many years ago (I am A Perpetual Student), I sent the following cryptic letter to the famous Royal Society of London, which is probably the world's most famous scientific society (Newton was a President of the Royal Society); I don't think any scientist belonging to the Royal Society - any Fellow of the Royal Society (F.R.S.) - understood My cryptic letter:

And yet a school where one will learn to laugh heartily; philosophers should be graded according to their capacity for laughter; "he who strideth across the highest mountains laugheth at all tragedies." And there will be no moralic acid in this education of the superman; an asceticism of the will, but no condemnation of the flesh. "Cease not to dance, ye sweet girls! No spoil-sport hath come unto you with an evil eye, ... no enemy of girls with beautiful ankles." Even a superman may have a taste for beautiful ankles.

Energy, intellect, and pride - these make the superman. The weakling is not strong enough to say No; he is a discord, a decadent. To discipline one's self -- that is the highest thing. "The man who does not wish to be merely one of the mass only needs to cease to be easy on himself." To have a purpose for which one can be hard upon others, but above all upon one's self; to have a purpose for which one will do almost anything except betray a friend -- that is the final patent of nobility, the last formula of the superman.

I first SAW the passionate novel THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY by Irving Stone (a very interesting biography of Michelangelo with some torrid scenes) displayed by the St. Stephen's College library under new books arrival when I was a Student of St. Stephen's College, Delhi; I did not have the time to read that novel at that time; a few years ago, I bought a paperback copy (SIGNET) of the massive historical novel (760 pages); I still haven't read the complete novel for lack of time, but have only read some colorful/colourful passages in the novel; WAR AND PEACE is even more massive, and I have been similarly unable to read the complete novel for lack of time, and have only read some entertaining passages from this world-famous novel; ditto THE ROMANCE OF LEONARDO DA VINCI by Dmitry Merezhkovsky, translated from Russian by Robert Guilbert Guerney (SIGNET); I had heard that WAR AND PEACE is one of the world's greatest novels (while some say WAR AND PEACE is the greatest novel, some others say DON QUIXOTE, yet others say CRIME AND PUNISHMENT or perhaps THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV / THE KARAMAZOV BROTHERS et cetera; I enjoy reading Chekhov, too; of course, the above-mentioned literary estimates were made BEFORE God's glorious arrival on the scene in human form; after all, who can compete with God?), so I decided to watch the film WAR AND PEACE, which turned out to be in Russian, as far as I remember. (I hoped I could watch THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY at some time in the future.) I remember feeling disappointed that the film was only a small part of the novel; perhaps it was made in a hurry by some "hippy" to find out My preference for Tolstoy or otherwise! I left My wonderful alma mater St. Stephen's College and rejoined My previous alma mater Cotton College because I was short of attendance in My B.Sc. Part I subsidiary/pass course mathematics classes held at (then all-male) St. Stephen's College although My attendance in My physics honours and subsidiary chemistry coed (!) classes which were held at adjoining Delhi University were quite OK - actually, in fact, when I was a St. Stephen's College hostel boarder, I constantly went out in the evening to visit Delhi University Library which was near our college and hostel, and took out books from the library bookshelves and kept on reading them, standing in front of the bookshelves and reading the books under fluorescent tube lights; it was in the Delhi University library that I found and read the wonderful book HOW TO GET MORE OUT OF YOUR READING by Norman Lewis; I had earlier bought from Khosla's bookshop (which was about 10 - 15 minutes' walk from St. Stephen's College) life-transforming books 30 DAYS TO A MORE POWERFUL VOCABULARY by Dr. Wilfred Funk and Norman Lewis and THE POCKET ROGET'S THESAURUS IN DICTIONARY FORM edited by Norman Lewis; when I went home on a vacation when I was still a Student of St. Stephen's College, I bought from Western Book Depot in Guwahati a copy of WORD POWER MADE EASY, a sensational word power book which along with THINK YOUR WAY TO WEALTH by Napoleon Hill (a transcript of young teenage American journalist Napoleon Hill's interview of the rich philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the richest man of his time who gave away his vast accumulated wealth for the benefit of mankind) revolutionized My life. I will confess publicly for the first time that I thank God and the late S.C. Sircar, who was beloved Principal of St. Stephen's College when I was A Student there, for NOT allowing Me to take the Delhi University B.Sc. Part I exams - as a matter of fact I would have FAILED the exams! My prestige was intact! (I NEVER told My late dad Krishna nor My late mom nor anybody else how God and dear late beloved Principal S.C. Sircar gave Me an excellent excuse - "short of attendance" - for not taking the exams which I would have definitely FAILED if I took the exams!) To come back finally to My main topic: Now that we have fantastic YouTube, I can - and will - watch both WAR AND PEACE and THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY and many more delightful classics. THE DA VINCI CODE

YouTube can be addictive! It's 2:15 AM ! I have just finished listening to a very interesting YouTube talk on novelist Dan Brown's bestselling thriller THE DA VINCI CODE, delivered by Brother Shabir Ally (YouTube: A Muslim Perspective On The Da Vinci Code 48:05). Brother Shabir Ali, who is obviously a voracious reader and is very well-read, has a warm personality and is a very interesting and inspiring speaker who speaks fluent English with excellent pronunciation. (I think he may be a college or university professor of English literature.) He is full of praise for THE DA VINCI CODE which he describes as a "cliffhanger" (vivid image of a guy hanging precariously from a cliff!) which has a "moving story", while at the same time he rightly points out that this is a work of fiction and stresses that not everything in a work of fiction has to be literally true. (By the way, I feel equal affection and respect for "Hindus", "Muslims", "Christians", "Jews", "Buddhists", "Sikhs", "Jains" etc. - particularly for females ! - and I also have equal affection for those who are NOT SURE if God exists and even for those who DO NOT BELIEVE in God though I am pretty sure that ALL My numerous male and female (!) readers are now convinced that God exists in human form and My fans are even aware of His secret identity! By the way, I have personal copies of the world-famous classics Gita, Shrimad Bhagavat, Bible, Koran, Ramayana, Mahabharata, etc. Incidentally, I have been inside temples, masjid, and churches - serene and peaceful places of worship for silent communion with the Almighty who I think now lives incognito and communicates with the world via the Internet using A Deceptive Poetic Name! [A few minutes ago, I posted this comment on a YouTube video with a Jesus-like picture (named something like NWBOXER 247 or a similar number; I cannot locate the video anymore; next time I will take the trouble to note the name of any YouTube video I comment on) by a very sad and charming young white woman who is obviously a strong champion of black Americans coz the sweet and pensive gal claims God and Jesus to be black and she also says that black Americans are the original Hebrews of Israel who went to west Africa from where they were brought to America as slaves. However, I firmly believe that God and Jesus et al can change their skin color like chameleons supposedly can!]

Intriguing. Unusual exposition by an exceptionally kind and passionate "White Woman." (By the way, I believe that the late Satan and his gang of aliens altered human genes millions of years ago to change the skin colors of male and female humans at will and to introduce death and disease and aging in humans. Our top scientists will make the necessary corrections, I am sure.) - G
